Broken Hill – Australia’s Most Affordable Regional Area

Broken Hill has been tipped as the country’s most affordable regional area, according to RP Data.

An analysis by the research company identified 10 country towns where houses have the lowest median price.

Broken Hill, located in the far west of New South Wales, took out the top spot with a median value of just $149,811.

According to the figures, the resources-driven town has seen a strong performance over the past decade with average annual growth coming to 11 per cent per annum.

Meanwhile, in the rental market, investors can see gross rental returns of over 9.2 per cent. Read more at Real Estate Business Online.

Regional Development Update – April 2014

In previous years Regional Development Australia Far West has produced an Annual Economic Update giving a snapshot analysis of what the previous year has dealt us and providing a broad prediction on the year ahead. This year, the RDA and Broken Hill City Council has taken things up a notch – as of 2014 RDA Far West produce a Regional Economic Update, produced quarterly, to give the community an up to date reflection on the previous three months.

Previous editions of the economic update have proven very popular with local businesses, residents and council to gauge the health of our regional economy and showcase our unique environment to potential investors and developers.
